Ghaziabad school holidays
Due to the cold wave, district magistrate Indra Vikram Singh notified the extension of winter vacations for classes 1 to 8. The schools will be closed for students until January 18. However, the employees of the educational institutions will come to school. The order applies to all councils and secondary schools affiliated with the UP Board, CBSE, ICSCE, and other boards.

Patna school holidays
The district magistrate of Patna has prohibited all educational activities up to class 8 in schools, Anganwadi centres and pre-schools till January 15, given the safety of children’s health in the cold. Instructions have been given to keep the teaching time in classes above class 8 between 9 am to 3:30 pm only.

Rajasthan school holidays
Schools in Rajasthan’s Jaipur, Dausa, Sikar, Bundi, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Pali, Beawar, Dholpur, and Jhalawar will remain closed till January 14 for classes till 8 owing to the cold wave. While the timings have been revised for classes 9 to 12. They will start from 10 am.
Gorakhpur school holidays
Schools in Gorakhpur are closed till January 14 for all the government, Anganwadi and private educational institutions. They will resume on January 15.
Tamil Nadu school, college holidays
Due to Pongal, schools in Tamil Nadu will remain closed till January 20. Not only schools but colleges, and government offices are also closed. Some of the private schools are also closed on January 13.
Telangana school holidays
The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) has announced a school holiday for all intermediate colleges across the state in celebration of Makar Sankranti. The holidays have commenced on January 11 and continue through January 16. Classes will resume on Friday, January 17.
Jammu and Kashmir school holidays
The School Education Department in Jammu and Kashmir has announced the following winter holiday schedule. The announcement was officially shared on the microblogging site X by Sakina ltoo, the Minister of School Education.
–Schools up to Class 5: Closed from December 10, 2024, to February 28, 2025.
–Schools for Classes 6 to 12: Closed from December 16, 2024, to February 28, 2025.
